My Role

I was brought on as Senior Artist to lead the visual evolution of the company’s new direction. I oversaw the redesign of the public website and backend retail systems, redesigned the cloud-based photo management interface, and modernized the software UI through feature updates and visual improvements. In parallel, I led a full rebrand across the company, its product suite, and all packaging to create a cohesive and forward-looking identity.

ACDSee Software UI

ACDSee’s flagship photo editing software was undergoing major feature expansion, requiring a comprehensive UI/UX redesign. I led the visual modernization of the interface, evolving the aesthetic while improving clarity, usability, and consistency across the platform.

This included rebuilding all graphical assets as high-resolution vector components to support modern displays, refining the overall visual language, and designing a new startup and onboarding experience to better introduce users to new tools and workflows. I also contributed to the cloud-based photo management interface, ensuring a cohesive experience between desktop software and connected services.

The Challenge + Process

  • Scalable high-resolution vector asset system

  • Mobile companion app UI/UX design

  • Unified iconography across product suite

  • Redesigned onboarding and startup experience

  • Cloud-based photo management interface

Packaging Design

ACD’s product packaging required a complete visual refresh to align with the company’s new brand direction. Each product served a distinct audience — from professional creatives to casual users — so the system needed to balance clarity, differentiation, and cohesion.

I developed a unified packaging design framework that established a consistent visual language across the entire product suite while allowing each product tier to express its own positioning through color, imagery, and hierarchy. The updated system modernized the brand, improved shelf presence, and created a scalable foundation for future releases.

All packaging visuals were supported by custom 3D product renders used across marketing, web, and retail channels to ensure consistency from physical product to digital experience.

Web Design

The ACD Systems as well as all the product’s web design went through man  iterations and was perpetually evolving based on the market and user testing. From campaigns to new product updates over the course of 5+ years the design was consistent but user flows were changed and adapted. A new cloud-based service was created specifically for photo management and a new backend software
management and purchasing architecture was built.

App Branding & Visual System

ACD Systems underwent a full product rebrand that extended beyond packaging into the in-app experience. I led the evolution of the visual identity across splash screens, onboarding flows, iconography, and the overall startup experience to ensure brand consistency from first launch through daily use.

Over a five-year period, the product suite continued to grow and evolve. I maintained and expanded the original brand direction I established — including new logos for each product, defined color systems by tier, and a cohesive visual language that unified the entire ecosystem while allowing individual applications to retain distinct positioning.

User Experience + Visual Re-Design Results

The rebrand connected every part of the ACD experience, including packaging, in-app UI, email marketing campaigns, checkout flows, backend retail systems, and cloud services. Users moved seamlessly from product discovery to purchase, installation, and daily workflow within a consistent and recognizable visual system.

By aligning brand, UX patterns, and messaging across all touchpoints, the company strengthened product perception, improved cohesion across releases, and built a scalable foundation that supported ongoing feature growth and future product expansion.
